I just finished reading "Rowan of Rin" , the first book in the "Rin" series by the Australian author, Emily Rodda. It's a great read - fast-paced and full of all the elements of fantasy fiction: a life-threatening crisis, a quest, an enchanted map with cryptic clues, perilous adventure and an unlikely hero who is tested to the limits of his endurance. Both boys and girls will enjoy this one! I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
